GUIDE:
Tremolo springs typically have a spring rate (also known as stiffness or constant) in the range of 4 to 5 pounds per inch (lb/in). This means for every inch the spring is stretched, it applies 4 to 5 pounds of resistance.
For the tension or force, it varies depending on how many springs are used and how much they are stretched during installation. A typical tremolo system with 3 springs, each under moderate tension, might have a combined tension of around 30 to 40 pounds when fully stretched during operation. If more or fewer springs are used, the total tension can be adjusted accordingly.
